Meet the Berry Hill Animal Hospital Team
Dr. Erin Kirkpatrick
Erin Kirkpatrick was born and raised in Rockville, Maryland, and attended University of Maryland for her undergraduate degree in Animal Science. She received her doctorate from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013, where she met her husband Dr. Michael Kirkpatrick, who is also a veterinarian. They moved to Nashville in 2014, where she began working at Berry Hill Animal Hospital and has been here since! She completed her course for her CVA from The Chi Institute to provide acupuncture to her patients in 2020. She purchased the practice from Dr. Michele Williams in 2021 after 7 years as an associate. Her interests include surgery, nutrition, palliative/end of life care, and client education. She also loves surgery, pain management, and anything to do with Labradors. When not at work, she is kept immensely busy by her three young children, dog, hamster, and chickens! She is a fitness enthusiast, runner, and loves to cook. She looks forward to the future at BHAH and all of the wonderful clients and patients she will continue to see over the years.
Dr. Amanda Gansberger
Amanda Gansberger has been in the state of Tennessee most of her life. She began undergrad at Austin Peay University, and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She began working at Berry Hill in 2004, and has been with us since. Working in Nashville since graduation, she has seen the many things change in this city including her own family! Two teenagers now keep her busy along with a serious addiction to gardening, spending as much time as she can outdoors. Biking, camping, hiking, and her own pets take up the rest of her time outside of being at BHAH. Loving the pets she cares for at work and the wonderful owners definitely make her life complete.
Dr. Amanda McElyea
Amanda McElyea is from Ridgetop, TN and graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She spent 3 years living in Salt Lake City, UT and has recently moved back to Tennessee to be closer to her family. She joined Berry Hill Animal Hospital as an associate in 2021 and we are thrilled to have her! She currently has two dogs, one cat, and five rats. She enjoys surgery, radiology, and preventative medicine. Her interest outside of veterinary medicine include kayaking, fishing, riding ATVs, and reading.
Dr. Ashley Miller
Ashley Miller is our new associate veterinarian coming from Michigan where she graduated from Michigan State’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 after receiving a B.S. from MSU in 2018. Her love of animals began early in life and she has always known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was five. Her interests in veterinary medicine include dentistry and dermatology, but developing lasting relationships with her patients and their owners is the most rewarding part of the job for her. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, trying new foods, and anything outdoors. She is excited for this new adventure in life and to be apart of the Berry Hill family.

I am very impressed with the level of service and care taken by this group. I never expected to get a reply to my email after business hours and I did and got my pup in the next day to take care of an issue that would’ve cost me hundreds if I had gone to an emergency vet. Everything about our visit was thoughtful and I can tell the staff has the best interest of their patients in mind without trying to oversell services and we will definitely be making them our hometown vet.
